A village pharmacist catering to the needs of alpine hikers and farmers, Eduard Gerlach understood how extremely painful sore feet can be.

He successfully mixed fundamental substances such as potassium carbonate, unsaturated fatty acids, mineral-based lubricants and disinfectant essential oils to create the cream “ E. Gerlach's Preservative Cream” - the first industrially manufactured cream for the prevention and relief of foot conditions.

Eduard Gerlach has received numerous international distinctions for his “ E. Gerlach's Preservative Cream” – today known as Podiatric Cream.
